But is it really right way to solve the exact reason of making it on. In my opinion we should check it from experts as they can solve the reason that makes on of CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.Cedric Duncanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04446066800524901704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1961886349275740640.post-10228860563203172702015-09-23T15:03:39.656-04:002015-09-23T15:03:39.656-04:00On many, it does. Some have "super caps"...On many, it does. Some have "super caps" (high storage capacitors that don't lose charge if just sitting) that hold data. In those cases, simply leaving the battery disconnected for a longer period of time does the trick. In other cases, you can simply touch the disconnected battery leads together to discharge the capacitors, depending on the way the circuit is designed. Doing this also clears the data your vehicle has been collecting about optimizing performance for your particular driving habits...and all cars have been doing that since the 90's. A FEW of the HIGH END cars have non-volatile storage for engine codes, but again, only a few because non-volatile memory fails after a certain number of writes.

All that being said, you are right about code scanners being cheap enough that people who want to tinker should just buy or build one for about $20-30. It's not worth the guess work.Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05328142581704918649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1961886349275740640.post-28360190641748282102015-07-20T18:30:10.593-04:002015-07-20T18:30:10.593-04:00Scottielane53@gmail.com
