turn cable box off and on, try dvd input for audio cause it might be your cable box only older cable boxes have this issue or unplug TV and cable box for 1 min. then let cable box boot up fully before turning on the the TV, if that didn't work plug in headphones to your tv, PC speakers,surround system or boombox you have laying around "audio out" from back of tv to "AUX" in to any outputting audio device.
